Snowdonia Backpacking
Links
Out of several websites that include Snowdonia, these are my favourites:
http://v-g.me.uk/index.htm About backpacking mainly in mountainous and remote regions of England and Wales. Includes descriptions, outline maps and first class photos of routes, over 40 of which are in north and mid Wales.
http://www.walkingbritain.co.uk/ Excellent free site containing hundreds of walks that include over sixty in Snowdonia, each with route description, outline map and good photos.
http://www.walkeryri.org.uk/ Contains all sorts of stuff specifically about Snowdonia, including articles, routes, a forum, weather links and excellent photos. Describes itself as a website about walking and hillwalking, but the site owner camps wild too.
http://stigvista.co.uk/wales.htm A picture site, with over seventy sets of mouth-watering photos of Wales.
http://www.bassplace.freeserve.co.uk/wildcamp/index.htm About the Lake District, not Wales, but included here because it contains 5 pages of information about wild camping.
http://www.ramblingpete.walkingplaces.co.uk A hill walker's site with entertaining text and super photos. Currently includes logs of five walks in Snowdonia.
http://www.walkingforum.co.uk/ A lively walking and hiking forum, with a section on Wales.
http://www.penmorfa.com/ Fifteen websites in one, mostly about North Wales' old mines, railways etc,
and includes some evocative scenic photos.
http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/loutdoor/mountainsafety/snowdonia.html Weather forecast for Snowdonia National Park. Spotted what looks like a spelling mistake? It is not mine, it is a genuine part of the URL.
http://www.mwis.org.uk/forecasts.php Mountain Weather Information Service.
